Bed guard for 3.5 yo?

Hi, my ds who is 3.5 moved in to his big boy single bed about 3 weeks ago. We have been putting a mattress down the side of the bed in case he falls out, but he has been fine so far. Does anyone have any experience of using or not using bed rails? I don't want to put a mattress down forever, but not keen on bed rails either. any advice please? Thank you.

If he's not fallen out in three weeks why do you think he needs one?

Sorry, I don't have any personal experience but I know that my niece and nephew who are two and three sleep in single beds without guards with no problems.

Never used one, put some cushions on the floor, he never fell out so put them away after a week or 2

Hi...we used a Bed Bumper from a company called Purple Daisies...worked really well for us...in fact i still use it! (really reasonable price too)

If he's never fallen out, he'll be fine now!

Although we use a low foam bed guard with DS - it goes underneath his sheet.
