Gro Clock - Am I doing something wrong?

I recently bought a Gro clock and I'm having problems getting it to come on at the correct time in the morning. I'm setting the correct time and the alarm every evening when my toddler goes to bed but in the morning the sun is coming up a lot earlier than the time I am setting it for. I don't know if the problem is being caused by me switching it off at the plug every morning after my little girl has woken up but I really don't need to have it switched on all day. Any help appreciated. Thanks

We have a Gro clock and I think when you unplug it, it stays at that time. So when you plug it in again it will be hours behind. I THINK. Anyway, I know that you have to reset the time if you unplug it but the wake up time stays the same.

A little while after the sun comes up, it goes into power saving mode, with just a grey screen and the digital clock, so I just leave it on.

There's no backup battery in the gro clock so when you switch it off, it loses the correct time.

We leave it on during the day (and usually I hate leaving things on standby), but any time there's been a power cut or it's been switched off by mistake we end up having to reset it.

Once it's working it's marvellous - I can hear my two whispering to each other about whether it's time to get up yet (Is the sunshine on?)

Thanks Yamyoid, Yes when I plug it back in again it basically shows the time it was last used/switched off at. Despite me resetting the correct time and alarm time it is still coming on a lot earlier in the morning than it should be. I emailed the Gro company about it 2 weeks ago but have not heard anything back from them.

We have a Gro Clock and it saved is from ds1 (7) and his perpetual 5am snuggles.

Ours is regularly unplugged as we need to use the socket for something else, and apart from having to reset the time we haven't had any issues.

Just wondering if when you set it at night you are making the little sun flash then pressing the enter key, or the little star. Star is for night use. The little sun will set it for a nap, which is pre-programmeable as a number of house, so then the sun comes up too early.

Thanks for all your posts. Yes I am definitely setting the night time star and not the sun so I don't know why it's not working properly.

Hi there! We are having the same problem, stays plugged in, I check the settings through and through and still the sun comes up early sometimes by an hour or more! I can’t seem to work this out. Did you find a solution?

Same problem here!! I just googled to try to find out what is going on and can see that so many people have had the same problem! Sounds like we need to email the company!

I’ve just crept into my son’s bedroom to switch his off cause it’s waking him ridiculously early!! Will report back when I’ve spoken to the company and would love to hear if anyone else had this issue resolved. Thanks!

Did this ever get resolved? Also having the same problem...or the opposite where the blue light is on the whole time and then she gets up anyway

We have the Purflo one and it's great. Charges quickly and lasts a couple of weeks yet doesn't lose time settings. Also we switch it off when DS is up for the day but turns itself on when the moon comes up.

I’m having the opposite problem! Poor dd keeps being told it’s still night with the star on when it’s way past the 7am setting for the sun to appear! Anyone get anywhere?

Oops my fault now I’ve read the instructions properly, you need to set morning wake up time on the star, I thought it was the sun for sunrise!
