Co sleeping on an air bed?

We're away this weekend at SIL's house. She brought bunk beds for her 4 yo dd but when we stop over she has her dd in her room and DP and I have the bunk beds with dd in a travel cot.

Our dd (nearly 10 months) is going through sleep regression and teething badly so I have sporadically co slept with her for about 3 weeks.

DP has suggested taking the air bed down for me to sleep with dd downstairs on my own (DP can stop in one of the bunks), will an air bed be ok?

I've always practiced safe co-sleeping but not sure if an air bed is any different to a matress??

i have never done it but i have slept on an air bed with dh a few times when we stayed at his parents house and i would not advise it because they are not as firm as a mattress and if any air is lost during the night (which could happen although probably a slim chance) there is a lot of bouncing around can be done and given you are the heavier one it will be your dd that will get moved around alot. personally i wouldnt do it,

Thanks county. I'm just not sure what to do for the best as she'll potentially disturb a whole household upstairs!

Anyone else any thoughts or have used an air bed?

It wouldn't be safe to put her in the bunk on her own as she could fall out either side if she rolls (it's in the middle of room). She's in to moving around her cot at the minute whilst asleep (typical bum in air / frog style position!) so I don't trust her enough to leave her in a single bunk on her own even if I was above her.

Might just bring travel cot down stairs and wade it out if she wakes up.

I wouldn't due to the uneven weight distribution- I roll onto DH and he is only five stone more than me. Not worth the risk! Can you sleep on a thick duvet on the floor?

We just got back from taking DD camping for the first time. She is also 10 months and also teething badly. DP and I had her in the air bed with us both nights and I felt perfectly happy with it. I'm not a safety expert but I think now she's quite big and mobile, she's ok on an airbed.

We did do it and pumped it up hard too (I'd posted on a group in Facebook and they suggested that) but think there was a tiny hole in it and it very slowly started deflating in the night every time i moved.

Of course it woke me up so I moved to the sofa and dd had airbed to herself once I pumped it back up! It didn't go down then (why would it, she's only 18lb!)
