too early to move 16 month into BBB?

i think my son is starting to get too big for his cot, he keeps banging into the sides and waking himself up during naps (which he does quite alot now that i think about it) and possibley during the night. but is he too young for a BBB?

any advice and stories would be great thanks

was also wondering what a bbb was!!! I think there is no harm in trying and if it turns into a nightmare then you may have to revert back for a couple more months.
