DS is 9 months old. and has never really slept well. We are starting pick-up-put-down as of last night - it worked brilliantly - it took 40 mins to get him to sleep, then he slept for 6 hours, woke for a feed, then slept for another 2 hours. Hurray!
My question is about daytime naps. Do you need to do pupd for naps as well as bedtime? I tried to do pupd for his morning nap today - tried for an hour and a ten mins to get him down, then gave up as he was in such a state. He is now wide awake and has missed his morning nap.
Will he learn to self settle using pupd if we only do it at night, or does it have to be done consistently for all naps and bedtime? Not particularly looking forward to another battle this afternoon, and I'm worried that he will end up missing all his naps and then not be able to sleep tonight as he is overtired.
If you have done pick-up-put-down did you do it for daytime naps as well?
Thanks!
