DS will be 12 weeks tomorrow and his sleep is still really hit and miss. I have some weeks where I am fine with this, but as we hit this milestone I really want to get him in to a routine. I was criticised for saying this at 10 weeks, but being super laid back just doesn't work for me. I am bloody knackered and fed up of spending every day simply trying to get him sleeping.

He's fed on demand in the day and manages about 4 or 5 40 min naps. He used to sleep for longer, but recently he's been doing these short ones. But then yesterday he randomly slept from 4-6 (when I woke him up). Hmm

At night he goes to bed between 7-8 and up until Monday was able to sleep for 5 hours on the first stretch, then 4 hours, then 2 or 3. Which was managable, but this too has gone out the window. Last night was bed at 8, up at 12:30, 3:30 and then fussed from about 5:45 until he got up at 6:45. He's now back in bed and I am running back there in a sec!

All of my RL friends who have good sleeping babies all have dummies. I've tried with DS before, but he's just not interested. Has anyone managed to bf their baby and get them sleeping through without a dummy?? I'm loathe to force it upon him, but want to try and crack this sleeping malarky. Also, from today I am going to start stretching his feeds to 4 hours. He's a little chunk (14.5lbs) with three chins and plenty of rolls! He isn't always hungry when feeding, so I wonder if his waking is simply out of habit vs. hunger?

Any help is appreciated. I know he's not horrific and I should just 'go with it', but I have honestly tried and it's driving me nuts.
