I have insomnia
I sleep with ear plugs and eye mask but the slightest sounds wake me
dd1 wakes, then an hour or two later dd2 wakes and gurgles ( in our room as only 6 months)
its torture
I try to meditate but it is not working
I have rescue rememdy night spray ( works occaisionally)
I try to concentrate on breathing/relaxation

I am awake usually from 2/3 am and it takes hours to fall back asleep

I usually fall back to sleep about 630 am and then at 7 the kids get up

I dont want to take sleeping pills as I dont like the idea of being 'dependant' on any pills

any ideas ?????

I've always heard that lettuce helps with insomnia so I googled it just to be sure and I came across this website:

www.home-remedies-for-you.com/remedy/Insomnia.html

Hope that helps :)

After seeing it recommended on here, I tried a dose of Medised and it worked a treat for me. I now occasionally use Sleep Right ( I think that's what it is called) from Tesco, which has the same antihistamine in it as Medised and that works really well too. Usually only need a half dose.

Don't know if your not taking sleeping pills includes herbal, but I've found Kalms Sleep tablets very helpful.

Actually, have you got a Spotify account? There are a load of self help tracks on there - you can try different sleep ones to see if one works - I've been listening to a weight loss one and it always sends me to sleep -haven't lost weight yet though Hmm
