Where does your baby nap during the day?

DD is 10 weeks and fast outgrowing her Moses basket which we currently use downstairs.

DP & my mum suggest putting her on the sofa, (& DD seems happy when I do it) but I'm not sure that's safe if I leave the room whilst she's asleep.

If I put her upstairs during the day she won't sleep for as long as she will downstairs (although sleeping at night is not a problem).

So, where do your babies nap? Is there a 1/2 way house between baskets and cots that I don't know about? Or should I persevere with naps upstairs until DD gets the idea?

My DD (13 weeks) mostly naps on me/in sling but when she will go down she naps in her pushchair laid flat.

My son was one napping on the sofa until he learned to roll, about 5 months/20 weeks. After that its been either cot upstairs if at home, sofa with me next to him MNing or out in the car or buggy.

My DD is the same, tried putting her in her cot to get used to being in there before she moves into her own room in a couple of months. As you've found though she doesn't seem to sleep as long. I don't really have a set place, she either sleeps on me, the sofa or her rocker. I have used her pram before, she seems to find it very comfy and it's a safe place to leave her.

DS was rolling over at 10 weeks, so I don't reckon the sofa is a safe place. Cot Buggy Pram maybe better?

My 2 have always had daytime naps in their pushchair. I've never put them in their cot as the cot is for night time.

DS usually sleeps in his cot upstairs, I figure it gets him used to it and when he wakes he chats ti his toys so thinks of it as a 'nice' place. However, for his tea time catnap he usually just lies on a blanket on the sofa while I sit next to him watching TV.
So 2 naps in cot, 1 catnap on sofa.

Unless we are out, then naps are in pushchair, carseat etc.

Thanks all. DD seems to have taken to falling asleep in my arms (even the sofa next to me is no longer good enough). Means I get to catch up with Springwatch too! Hopefully eventually I'll be able to transfer her once she's asleep so I can have a cup of tea do the washing [hopeful emoticon]

My dd is 10 weeks and tends to have her morning nap in her cot (where she sleeps at night) and lunchtime and afternoon naps in the pram as we are normally out and about. I'm going to try and get all of them in the cot before the end of the summer as I dont fancy lots of walking in snow/ rain .
