7 week old, suddenly regressing sleepwise

Our beautiful LO has been doing ok - waking twice and sometimes once in the night - eg. midnight til 5am a couple of times.

Last 2 nights he's been waking every 2-2.5 hours demanding another feed. Last night he went down at about 10, woke at 12.30, 2.30 and 5am!! He does feed and go down again pretty quick. He's breastfed with the odd bot bot delivered by DP using EBM.

He feeds every 3 hours or so during the day, is this a growth spurt and how long do they last?

Sounds like you've been spoilt with his sleeping habits until now! I'm sure i don't need to tell you that's pretty good going for a 7 week old.

If you haven't changed what you're doing or how you're doing it then chances are it's only a temporary regression and could well be due to a growth spurt which i think they have at 6/7 weeks.

Our 7 week old goes anywhere from 3 to 6 and half hours between feeds but had been having some blips in the early morning when he appeared to 'snack' a bit every couple of hours. I discovered that this may have been down to me thinking he'd finished, but actually he just needed a mid-feed winding. Consequently he didn't go as long before needing another feed. Is yours feeding for the same amount of time he was prior to this regression?
