16mmoved into bed-need help

I've had to put my 16m ds in a bed as he's been climbing out of his cot but am now having major issues with him.
He's gone from being a fantastic sleeper (6.30-7.30) to a child that screams when i put him bed and wakes several times per night and gets up at 5!(which then wakes his brother!!)
He's improved slightly over the past 5 days but both me and my husband are both starting to suffer from the lack of sleep.
Ay ideas/help would be appreciated

If it was me, I'd put him back in the cot for a while.

i did use growbags while he was in the cot but now stopped. i might try that tonight.
I keep wondering if to put him back in cot but he was coming out headfirst and i just keep thinking if he seriously hurts himself would i ever forgive myself, argh i don't know what to do!!!
Should i mention that on night wanderings the only place he ever wanted to go was his brothers room. I removed all toys from in there to make it boring and have now moved his bed in(try everything) but i go in and he's curled up aslep at the bottom of his brother bed! (wish they got on as good when they were awake!!)

i found my LOs woke up partly because they would move around and lose their covers and that was why they had broken sleep when we moved them into beds. Fingers crossed for you

Could you try moving his bed in his brother's room or alternatively you could try putting his quilt sideways and tucking it into the mattress on either side so its harder to wriggle out.

If you don't want to put him in his brother's room you could try the cot again but put something soft on the floor while his is sleeping. That way if he does come out headfirst he'll have a soft landing [hsmile]

Could you try him with Grobag in bed and then tall side guards so he still feels protected but in a bed; or buy Grobag duvets that zip up at the side so don't fall off (see Grobag website).

Thanks for all suggestions. Had really good night last night, combination of bed in brothers room, thinner jarmies, warmer quilt and bed guard. Slept for 12.5hrs and no screaming when i put him down tonight. Finger crossed. Thanks again.x

If you do have problems again try putting him in his bed first each night but say that you will put him back in his cot if he fusses. If he then fusses put him in a travel cot/cot straight away - no questions asked. The next following nights start off with him in his bed again but move him if he fusses. Kids are usually deperate to be in a proper bed and will quickly learn. This method has worked for me and some of my friends.
