WHY do chunky slebs always say that they've 'slimmed down to a size 12' when they HAVEN'T?

do they think we don't know? case in point Mica Paris (who looked infinitely better in the frock)... she's now 13st something and in a size 12.

there will be a dvd, oh yes there will. Vanessa feltz is still a size 12 you know... having bulked up from a 10. my arse.

Iklboo Tue 26-May-09 13:58:53

Maybe they mean an American size 12 (which is a UK size 16?) wink

They look like US 12's, rather than UK's. It's not untrue, just very misleading.

Mind you, I like the idea of being a 12 again. Just wish it was the UK kind

KingRolo Tue 26-May-09 14:00:40

Well, Mica Paris looks great there but she's not a size 12 is she?

If Vanessa is a size 12 I'll eat my hat.

TheCrackFox Tue 26-May-09 14:00:56

She looks lovely but would have to say she is probably a 14/16.

She is tall - 5ft 11 and 13 stone.

I am 5ft 9 and weighed 13 stone after having DS2 and I had to wear 16/18. I looked crap though.

Remember Vanessa Feltz claiming to be a size 12. Yeah, right.

mrsmaidamess Tue 26-May-09 14:02:01

I knew you were talking about Mica Paris. She's nearly 6 ft, weighs 13 1/2 stone HOW IN GODS NAME can she be a size 12???

It's all designed to make us
1. Feel crap

2. Buy the DVD

KingRolo Tue 26-May-09 14:02:31

Actually, looking at those pictures again, Mica looks the same size now as she did before.

Pinkjenny Tue 26-May-09 14:03:24

Slebs that start out larger and lose weight always claim to be a size 12. That seems to be the acceptable weight, like admitting they were a size 14 would make them heifer-like.

It drives me mad. Vanessa Feltz is not, and has never been imo, a size 12.

AitchTwoOh Tue 26-May-09 14:03:44

it IS untrue, she's never a 12. the uk/us thin is bogus... we're in the UK.

i'm embarrassed for her, it's a terrible picture, look at the lighting, designed to flare out half of her body. and that bikini top, lol. she looks lovely in the other picture, at fifteen stone (supposedly).

Stinkermink Tue 26-May-09 14:05:04

Can't see any difference between those to photos tbh! If she's a 12 then I need to take a serious look at myself and get down the gym!

AitchTwoOh Tue 26-May-09 14:05:06

she DOES, doesn't she kingrolo? agree, pinkjenny, it would be a matter of some SHAME to admit to being a --crack addict-- prostitute size 14. shock

bronze Tue 26-May-09 14:06:05

Well I'm 5foot11 weigh 12 stone and am currently wearing size 16 trousers. They do talk bollocks dont they.

<resists urge to make excuses>

mynameis Tue 26-May-09 14:07:04

Is it just me or does she look better in the before picture?

mrsmaidamess Tue 26-May-09 14:08:09

I'm 5 ft 9 and weigh 11 stone (last time I looked) and wear a 14 trews on a good day. IT's ALL BOLLEAUX

KingRolo Tue 26-May-09 14:10:12

Yup, all bollocks. I just don't get the Mail. One minute someone is being applauded for being a 'slim' 13 stone, then next someone else is blasted for being overweight at 8 stone.

ellingwoman Tue 26-May-09 14:12:04

Yeah agree. I wish they'd just say 'I've been photoshop'd down to a size 12' then we'd all know what they meant.

squilly Tue 26-May-09 14:12:59

Daily Mail are particularly hypocritical when dealing with weight, parenting, in fact, pretty much everything.

Drives me nuts how they generate such a vast amount of sleb twaddle. Mind you, am still drawn to it, like a moth to a flame blush.

doggiesayswoof Tue 26-May-09 14:13:22

She is NEVER a size 12

It's a bit pathetic, especially when they have published her actual weight.

She has toned up a fair bit - but she doesn't look any thinner than in the "before" picture

I think a 12 is the maximum size you are allowed to be while still being "slender" or "slim" or any of those crap meeja words, especially if you have an exercise DVD out lost weight successfully.

castille Tue 26-May-09 14:13:51

She's just holding her breath in the after shot.

ellingwoman Tue 26-May-09 14:14:39

You're not from Rochdale as well are you squilly?

traceybath Tue 26-May-09 14:14:46

And you just know that most of the time they put the weight back on again - look at natalie cassidy and the delight the press took in every pound she gained back.

AitchTwoOh Tue 26-May-09 14:14:59

lol castille. not breathing does help.

mrsmaidamess Tue 26-May-09 14:15:34

<breathes in sharply>

mrsmaidamess Tue 26-May-09 14:15:58

<still holding it>
