Ski & snowboarding

Nice ski clothing without a Perfect Moment budget?

Can anyone recommend a good place for ski wear for women? If I won the lottery I'd buy Perfect Moment stuff but cannot justify £600 for a jazzy ski jacket that I'll wear once a year...

Thank you!

Aldi - right now.

Have a look around Aldi (yes really) their ski wear seems ok. Marks and Spencer have ski wear. Look around department stores too.

I don't know if you like a good rummage in the charity shops, but I once got a pair of ski boots and a ski, 'jump suit' from a charity shop. Nothing wrong with them. The 'jump suit' was dated but good. Fashion on the slopes ? Ever heard of retro ?

My ski jacket cost fifty quid over ten years ago. It was on sale at Harrods and I also had a discount voucher to use. Basically, have a look and see who is discounting their ski wear already. Unlikely this side of the half term break, but have a look.

TK Maxx often have Spyder ski wear in (and other brands as well - I just know my gang favour Spyder kit so that’s what I loom out for)

Thanks all. Sadly I'm miles from an Aldi (sad about this for so many reasons) but will have a look at TK Maxx and also charity shops - what a great idea!

Decathalon. Absolutely brilliant. Online

I would second Decathlon - they do good ski wear. For kids look online on Gumtree a lot of people sell ski wear worn for just one or two weeks when their child grows by the next season.

Aldi online?
My current jacket came from TKMaxx. They have lovely ski gear.

There is still some sale stuff at Snow and Rock - they might have sizes left to fit.

I've just bought a lovely jacket on Facebook marketplace for £35 it's over £200 new.
I did also buy one for ds on eBay but had to pay £55 for that (Scott another good brand though)

It’s quite late for tkmaxc ski wear - it usually comes out in Oct and by Xmas most of the good stuff is gone but worth a look

Don’t rule out outdoor jackets - we ski in Patagonia, north face or Rab- jackets don’t have to be ‘ski’ jackets.

Base layers can be bought as cheap as sports direct but H&M, primark etc do nice ones. Sweaty Betty have great ski sales - again too late mow- where you can get their base layers for £30 instead of £60-70
Superdry has good sales too as do surfancic and surfdome

Not been skiing for some years, Need new gear, what is popular to wear on the slopes these days? I used to favour black all in ones but fear it may look dated?

DP seem to have some stylish jackets, not seen them so need to check functionality. Snow and Rock, Ellis Brigham etc usually have sales from end of February.

Yeah all in ones aren’t so great when you’re in the loo with your top half dragging in the puddle from everyone else’s ski boots... look nice though!

Last time we went skiing was a few years ago around this time and picked up all I needed in sales for about £100 all in. Tnf jacket, was plenty warm for the slopes and can use it for normal winter wear, tnf pants and gloves, were fairly heavily reduced at this stage, might be worth a look. Have my own boots so not sure what they cost these days to rent.
