It's so cheap! Is it family friendly? I've heard mixed reviews so just wondered if anyone had been rcebtky and could give me any ideas. My youngest is 5 and I'm not sure he would cope in ski kindergarten all day.

I went to Bamako and vowed never to go back. This was six years ago things may have improved since then.

Would you go with just adults?

DH wants us to take the kids so I said I'd try and find something cheap for us all. Not worried about taking the kids out of school. I'd rather go with just DH as all in, it's only £1k for us both and we already have a holiday booked for us and the kids next year.

And what exactly was it about bankso that you didn't like?

We were just adults. It in school holidays (teachers). It just wasn't ready for the volume of people.

The main gondola couldn't cope, if you were there after 8am you'd be in a queue for an hour and a half just to get up.

The food / restaurants were awful, really awful.

Half built accommodation blocks everywhere falling into complete disrepair.

Wild dogs everywhere that were pretty intimidating.

Local mafia on the doors of bars / restaurants after 8pm.

The skiing wasn't good enough to warrant the pay off of a cheap holiday.

As I say this was six years ago things may have changed but I still wouldn't go back.

That doesn't sound good at all. I'm not surprised you don't want to go back and I can't really see things changing that dramatically in 6 years.

Went years ago on our first ever ski holiday to Borovets as was cheap and we didn't know better. If you can afford it I would go somewhere else. Not great snow but was Christmas, poor food, sleazy areas, queues. Ds (6) at time got sickness bug. Having been many other places since I would rather not go than go back.

It’s terrible.

Really really bad.

Prostitution and cheap vodka bars. It’s gross.

Italy, Cervinia is slightly cheaper and much much nicer.

Also try the website sunweb. It’s a great company! Cheap and good.

Go to Andorra.

Cervinia and Andorra are both more than double what we could get in bulgeria. Hmm. It's so tempting but a huge gamble.

I'd go to Andorra / cervinia or not go at all tbh. Save your cash and go the year after to somewhere decent. If you do manage to save I know it sounds counterintuitive but USA is amazing and super cheap once you're on the mountain compared to Europe.

It's cheap for a reason.

America is not cheap!!

We just went there for the summer. The exchange rate is a killer and the prices are like London.

Bulgaria with kids would be hideous. Friends of mine went and used a taxi to take them over the border to Poland as the sking and facilities were better.
You know Poland tgat world famous ski place Confused
