Ski and snowboarding

Is this a brilliant idea, or would I be seriously "frowned upon"

(Lighthearted really)
I was just tidying out the booze cupboard and found a small hip flask I had forgotten we owned.
I thought it would be ideal for taking a drink of water when out skiing. It holds 100ml, so enough for those times when you need a a quick mouthful of water, but don't want to stop to buy a drink. It's metal and leakproof, so no risk of breaking or leaking, and would fit in a pocket. I don't like using a backpack.
But.....would I look like an mad drunkard? So brilliant idea, or just no?

When I was in st Anton I saw many people drinking from hip flasks and it definitely wasn’t water! I doubt anyone would notice or mind

Last time I was ski ING there was a French lady swigging whiskey and smoking cigarettes so you'd have fitted right in!!!

I think most people will, assume it's booze, yes. But does it matter what others think?

Well you might look like you're taking a tipple but that's probably not all that unusual either and as long as it doesn't bother you what people think then go for it. I used to use an old vodka bottle (a half litre one) as a water bottle, people probably thought I was a terrible drunkard but it fit really nicely in my coat pocket unlike normal water bottles because it was flatter and wider.

No, bad idea I think. Being metal will make it freezing cold to hold, and your water will probably freeze.

Thanks. Will give it a ty.
It will be in a pocket, so hopefully stay liquid from body heat.
hambo yes, I've seen lots of drinking and smoking going on. The most 'relaxed' attitude was a couple actually managing to light cigarettes and smoke them whilst on a long T-bar drag lift. I was doing my usual white knuckled hanging on for grim death act Grin

Ginger wine works well for a less alcoholic tipple than whisky! Although more compared to water!!!

Jellybean good idea, ginger has a nice warming effect as well. I'd give that a try. Thanks.

Half of skiers seem to think that the point of a trip to the slopes is to get as sloshed as possible so I don't think it really matters.
