Hi Please help me find the perfect resort for our next ski holiday. I want to ski but after two seasons of ski school have still not got past green slopes. My husband and daughter want hard slopes, is there anywhere to suit us? An outdoor pool in the resort and a ski in ski out catered chalet would also be great, and all quite cheap...?

Les Gets in France may cut the mustard. It's part of the Portes du Soleil region. I have been skiing there for four out of the five past years. I started as rank beginner, but DH was an ex-racer for his county. DH and friends toddle off all round the PdS area (including into Switzerland). Their favourite runs are the Swiss wall and the Combes du Machant area. I tend to stick with Les Gets/Morzine/Avoriaz (graduated to baby reds this year Grin...).

Also Ecole 360 are a brilliant ski school if you want private lessons - the instructors have listened to what I wanted to do and worked to achieve it. They have a lovely English woman called Julia at front of house for them too, so no challenges on the language side.

Alpe D'huez is great for this - loads of easy slopes all in a bowl near the town and then lots of other stuff elsewhere... it's our 'best for beginners' choice but doesn't lack anything for intermediate or advanced.
Also has an outdoor pool.

Courchevel 1650 or 1850 would do - lovely blues and greens and plenty for the advanced as well.

Also agree about Les Gets. I grew up skiing and took DP there and kids who'd never skied and everyone was happy.

Agree Les Gets would be good but Morzine is also worth considering. We have been several times with a group of mixed abilities and it has always worked well. Nice town to with nice bars, restaurants, ice rink etc

Ooh - marks place (and rushes off to check out the suggestions). This is just what we are looking for for next year.
