That's not new. People have been doing that forever.

Perhaps you need to be here more and stop having a real life?

I know, I loathe it too

I purposely avoid those. Thread titles can be really long if necessary, it's just ridiculous.

very clever bibbity

See, Tee, I thought I had seen more and more of it creeping in lately. Like lots of other horrible conventions from other forums.

What we need is someone with balls to keep reminding people about the unwritten rules of posting here on Mumsnet. I do keep wanting to call for backup from a certain forthright oldtimer.

She would come on with her

fgs ptu thequestino in teh title

and all would be well with the world

This title is ok, I hate the ones that say

Can anyone help me with this?

and want to say FGS a little bit more info in the title and you might get more hits.

I tend to have really long titles in order to avoid this. Which probably annoys other posters.

Go onto all of them and say 'whoops, I thought this would be something interesting but I see you are just seeking attention with your uninformative title as this is actually very boring.'

I am guilty of this. I can't help it, just have no imagination when it comes to thread titles.
I also overuse ...

You can hit me over the head with one of my dads missing fish now if you like..

I hate this. And I also hate 'Go on am I?' or some such as a thread title in AIBU.

Floopy21 · 13/05/2010 16:12

I always feel a bit cheated when I click on them & it says something really boring like
Shall I...
"...have an apple or an orange for lunch?"
rather than
"...blackmail the postman with pictures I have of him naked?"

squeaver · 14/05/2010 17:53

I am SO with you on this.

It's sooo annoying.
You always click hoping it will be a stinky fanjo one and it so rarely is.

pagwatch · 14/05/2010 18:07

i end up with slightly teaser-esque titles because I am so long winded.
DH always says "can we have the short version Enid Fucking Blyton.."

I've just been told off for suggesting that someone might get more useful responses if they put a slight clue as to what the thread was about in the title.

Maybe I should have actually read the thread, but I had resolved to say it to the next one I came across.
