Can I ask about a 'wanted' section which is visable in active convos please?

I ask because the response to Trinity was so overwhelming that I'm sure there are lots of mumsnetters who would be happy to pass on their USED bits to genuine mumsnetters who need it.

Obviously it would only work if people didn't take the pee and ask for a BNIB Nintendo Wii

But for instance I'm in need of age 5 jeans for DS, I hhave scoured ebay, charity shops and also left a message ont he mumsnet clothes board, but 98% of mumsnetters don't visit that, but Im sure that if there was a wanted section and people saw the ad 'has anyone got any age 5 jeans they are finished with please?' then there would be mumsnetter that would have such things.

I understand alot of people are weary about scammers but MNers aren't daft and can see the difference between a new poster asking for 'Boden baggies' and an old time reg asking for school skirts or the such.

If it were agreed this may be a good idea, but some people did really not want to see the section then there is a hide facility anyway.

Its just a thought and am open to critacism

I agree would need to be a def WANTED board and regulated that any 'for sale' posts that crept in would be removed. I used to love the wanted board when we had old format as I'd see a 'wanted' and then realise I could help and I've aksed for bits and wanted to pay for them but hardly anyone looks at the for sale/wanted boards anymore

Yes, definatly no money passing hands other than postage costs.

If people want to sell things theres the forsale section,

The 'free for postage' section shows up in active convos but that is to offer bits that you have finished with, not request bits.

I think I've seen people get told off for asking for things in there

dont think it necessarily needs to be FFP (there is a section with classified that is titled For Free)

For example if someone wanted a dressing up dress they could post a Wanted advert and anyone replying could say I have it would like £5 plus postage then arrange payment via email

But thats just the smae as the for sale section, and the are wanted bits in all the forsale areas,

Its just a fine line then isn't it rather than it being a clear cut, 'want to help someone else out' thing.

If you see someone putting a wanted up for '3-6 baby grows' then if you are happy to give them to someone and be rid then you can say it will be about 32 to post would you like them?

But if you want to sell them then paay £5 cat and pop them on the forsale board,
