That is because there is a different agreement between the two sites and my DH's firm. Nothing more sinister.

When DH does work, after a MN reference, then MN recieves a finacial payment from T&E. When he does one for MO they recieve no such money. Therefore it does even itself out.

Please don't turn this into a slanging match. My husband does not HAVE to provide ANY discount for anyone online. He does it through me suggesting it.

There were a few people on here at one time asking for advice and they were referred to DH through myself (not told to use, but they asked). So, as this was happening, I suggested to both DH and to the MN about some form of link. Both agreed.

Until now it has worked well. Infact he has done another two pieces of MN work today.

The MO was there first BTW.

Really disappointed in this. If necessary I will speak to the MN regarding this matter privately.

I think I have definietly done the right thing in removing myself as a moderator from MN for the time being, and being more careful where I post.

Really really saddened by this - and by people I thought we NOT like this

Please can someone tell me what MO is?

I know everyone else seems to know but I don't

So Hulababy does your DH work and help MNetters?

That is really kind of him

Hula, do you know that the people on this thread knew that it was a mumsnetter's DH that was offering the discounts? Just a thought as don't want to see you upset that's all.

TC x

Did Jampots know it was your DH HunkerMunker? I didn't I thought her post was just comparing between the sites

Report
RTKangaMummy · 16/05/2005 19:55

Oh I see

Never heard of it

Mind you I haven't looked for other parenting sites.

I came here from BBC Click online programme reccomendation not from searching google.

Hulababy

I have just loggoed on and I didn't know you DH was involved with this particular firm! I don't think this is meant personally after all if it was a major firm like Amazon we would complain.

Please don't get upset I'm sure none of this is personal.

in hula's defense, I think she is feeling pretty pissed off at the MO/MN threads recently and this has just added to it

not sure if people knew it was hula's dh but think hula is feeling despondent about the whole thing

sorry for swearing

Hard not to right now TBH.

And it has been quite widely publicised on here that it is my DH.

I may be wrong, but it would appear to me to be just one more set of stirring. Think it is too close to the other discussions for it not to be having a go TBH.Maybe I am wrong, but right now I am just fed up.

If it is a major problem, then I can always ask DH to contact thehe MN and see what happens then. The discount will NOT be raised however. I think 10% is a good deal regardless.

He doesn't HAVBE to offer this at all.

Thought we were doing some MNettersa favour.

Now it appears to be another way to be spiteful and have ago

BTW, not flouncing. Just not moderating for a while as I feel I have been placed in a horrid position recently

Feel very very

Oh Hulababy {{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}

I wish ours gave us a discount of anything rather than charging per minute for a telephone conversation in which HE speaks very very slowly

I do think it is very kind of him to help

Poor you!

I think I would be fed up too.

This seems to take things one step to far if it was a personal dig.
