as a relative newbie to mn and having used other parenting forums i am wondering why you have to pay to PM?ive ended up stealing peoples threads to answer things which i hate doing...so why no free PM system?
I assume its a major source of income to the site pickyvic. I imagine a site the size of mumsnet needs quite a bit of income to keep it going.
they're ultra-choosy about ads they take, so they need the money from somewhere else.
And what Aitch said, lol.
Aitch is absolutely right, pickyvic. See more about our advertising policy hereWe do charge a nominal amount for our PMs - or CATs in Mumsnet-speak - simply as a way to help us meet our running costs. But at only £5 for as many CATs as you like in a whole year, we reckon that's not too bad really.
