Would you be interested in hosting a Mumsnet stall at The Baby Show Oct 17th-19th?

Still a hypothetical question at the moment, but we might have the chance of a small stand at The London Earl's Court Baby show this Oct 17th-19th and we wondered if any Mumsnetters would be interested in being Mumsnet ambassadors, handing out fliers, talking to baby show visitors about the site and showing them how it works on a laptop or two.

We'd need someone to coordinate the three days (although that person wouldn't necessarily need to be there for the three days) and probably three or four volunteers for each day. Ideally at least a couple of the volunteers would be able to bring a wireless adapted laptop.

If noone fancies it, that's not a problem. But we did this once before in Birmingham and the folks that took part seemed to have had a good time so we thought we'd ask.

If you're interested in principle, please post here, just so we know if it's an idea worth pursuing.

Thanks all

i once manned a stall at a conference in the states

amazing the number of furreaks that wander around these places gathering the freebies

they go mad for the pin badges

oh, btw, no can do, sorry - 3yo and 14mo in tow would make it a tad tricky

Would love to. Would love to get away from screaming baby and demanding toddler for a weekend but unfortunately it is screaming baby's christening, I suppose I could just leave them all to it.

We should make a note of the dates so the threads on the days of demos are really bitchy nice and sweet.

Well there are others in Manchester and Brum coming up and they have Baby Show scotland too....so careful about protesting too much non Londoners or we might nab you for service at a later date

Current plan was not to have stand run by MNHQ but by mumsnetters, though the odd MNHQer (and believe me we're all a bit odd ) might pop in at some point.

Don't think dc's would necessarily enjoy the experience - it's a pretty busy, crowded place with not much on offer for children, but if you really wanted to do it and bring them we'd obviously be happy for you to do that. Probably work best for a short time burst.

We only want folks to do this if they think they'd enjoy it, so please don't feel obliged.

Thanks for the response so far
