Is it possible to insert a bigger gap between the 'Mumsnet' line at the top of the page (where it says 'home: talk: join mumsnet: classifieds') and the 'Find Discussions' line.

I keep clicking on 'Join mumsnet' when I want to click on 'Active Conversations'...

If not, don't worry. I'll just try to aim better

I've got a good space. Could you readjust your screen settings?

Gwenick Tue 15-Feb-05 11:59:17

charliecat Tue 15-Feb-05 12:01:41

My gap's about 2mm. Which screen setting could I adjust?

Gwenick Tue 15-Feb-05 12:03:45

my gaps about the same size as Charliecat's

HunkerMunker Tue 15-Feb-05 12:04:48

HunkerMunker - here is how to change your settings

Open desktop page

Right click mouse
left click on 'properties' at bottom of list

click on 'settings'

slide bar acrooss to 'low' which should say 800 x 600

click apply.

Your screen will now be less squashed

So why haven't I got the bigger gap between the Mumsnet line and the Find Discussions line at the top of the page?! Grr!

HunkerMunker Tue 15-Feb-05 12:35:41

Nooo! That's just scary and horrible. It's chunky-vision at 800x600! I'll stick with the tiny gap. Thanks though Mears

charliecat Tue 15-Feb-05 12:36:16

mines at 800x6oo and mine looks ok..

HunkerMunker Tue 15-Feb-05 12:37:16

Mine went really HUGE! Mind you, my PC's ancient and clonky. It's not the first time it's done peculiar things...

charliecat Tue 15-Feb-05 12:42:23

Whats your at just in case someone who knows something( i dont!) reads this and can see what the prob is..
are the words going too far to the right?

HunkerMunker Tue 15-Feb-05 13:28:20

Mine's at 1024x768.

mears Tue 15-Feb-05 13:39:10

HunkerMunker - the other thing to do is adjust the size.

Go through the same way to properies again. Then select appearance and you can adjust the letter size. Mine is set at normal.

You might need to update your browser because old ones don't always read pages properly. You can update it.

HunkerMunker Tue 15-Feb-05 13:46:12

I'm running IE 6.0 - is that the latest version?

mears Tue 15-Feb-05 13:50:36

Yes it is.

You could also keep your resolution but increase your font size through the appearance box I mentioned before to large.

Why not bookmark the active conversations page. Go to active conversations and then do Favourites - add to favourites.

Or add it to your links - then you'll get an icon below the web address and you can just go straight to that to get to the talk section.
