Question about 'Find New Messages' for Tech

KatieMac · 04/02/2005 19:55

When we do a search...we pick the topics.

Is there any way we could 'save' our selections - I go through picking the topics I want to search 2/3 times a day (and I'm too lazy for that)

Can you remember them all Tech or maybe your computer?

That's a good idea. I hadn't thought of it. I'll have a look and see. It shouldn't be too hard to do

Thanks
I think most of us 'pick' the same topics each time (they are the ones we are interested in) and if we want a different selection we could just do it like now......

Hi KatieMac,
This should be working now. Choose the topics you want as normal, then click "save favourites" to save them. Next time you are on that page, just click "load favourites" to put them back.

This is done with a simple cookie, so if you save on your work computer your home computer won't know about that list (and so on).

Tech

Hey Tech I keep getting this error when I try to create new messages:

java.sql.SQLException: Column not found, message from server: "Unknown column 'subtopic' in 'field list'"

I would start a new thread but I can't.

Tech, I use 'Find new messages' with varying topics. But today the result keeps coming up with '65 discussions have messages' instead of all the topics I choose. What's happening?

Hi Suedonim,
It's because it's finding so many messages. We've had to cap the number of results you get in one go. It's supposed to give you a message though. I'll have a look at it.

Tech

Tech, last day is only giving me 63 messages, is it because it's so big?

Are you suggesting we're a talkative lot, Tech? Thanks for the message!

Hello all,

Sorry for the confusion. The problem earlier was that "last day" was including the chat threads - which makes it useless as they outnumber everything else by a fair margin. They are gone now, so last day should fit in under the limit.

Regards,
Tech
