Hi there

In response to the suggestion of some mumsnetters (further down this thread) that they'd like to do something collectively to help out in SE Asia, we're donating all money collected thru subscriptions to the S E Asia appeal fund for a week, starting today and ending end of Tuesday 11th Jan. You can subscribe as little or as much as you want by clicking here

Many thanks

Rachel, Carrie and Justine

I have cut and pasted from WHERE IS LOU THREAD

huggybear Thu 06-Jan-05 11:56:53

kangamummy Thu 06-Jan-05 11:59:17

huggybear, that has been stored in your cookies file. Has someone else used your PC? YOu need to clear your cookies and it should disappear.

galaxy Thu 06-Jan-05 12:12:19

OMG - I just went to subscribe (well add abit as I paid it in december) and my email address has come up with Rachel@mumsnet.com - me thinks there's a site problem!

huggybear Thu 06-Jan-05 12:13:20

yes, its not actually my computer, its borrowed off a friend (under the pretence of having assignments to do... )

how do i clear cookies then?

emmaGotToTryHarder Thu 06-Jan-05 12:14:40

Apologies kanga, I posted on you other thread that I'd re-newed my subs but then forgot to start a new one like this.

galaxy Thu 06-Jan-05 12:18:25

galaxy Thu 06-Jan-05 15:18:00

Minimum donation is a fiver when you do it through the subscription link. I managed to do mine (just re-logged in).

kangamummy Thu 06-Jan-05 18:09:23

thanks galaxy

perhaps if you want to donate less then email mumsnet and am sure they will work out a way of that happening.

please help all those little babies and children left without their mummy and/or daddy to tuck them up in bed tonight

or for the mummy and/or daddy that doesn't have a baby or DD/DS to tuck up in bed anymore

twiglett Thu 06-Jan-05 18:14:54

I think its a FABULOUS IDEA

but .. if you are a UK taxpayer and donate directly to DEC they can claim back the tax which is worth an extra 33% to them

I don't know if Mumsnet have that facility

But I do think it is a lovely gesture

cupcakes Thu 06-Jan-05 18:55:29

So if you are a non tax payer ie a SAHM is it just as good to donate through mumsnet?

kangamummy Thu 06-Jan-05 19:06:59

cupcakes yes am sure it is

please help everyone just think about all the little children and babies

Willow2 Thu 06-Jan-05 19:09:16

Twiglett, good point but for anyone who has already donated money this might be a good time to update their Mumsnet sub too!

Carriemumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 06-Jan-05 19:26:29

We don't have that facility I'm afraid, which was one of our initial anxieties when this was suggested, but folks seemed so keen to have some kind of mumsnet initiative that we set this up.

Please feel free to donate personally rather than through mumsnet if you'd rather Gift Aid your donation - there'll certainly be no naming and shaming/Hall of Fame and as long as the money gets through we'll all be happy!

kangamummy Thu 06-Jan-05 20:48:37

please if you are not a tax payer and are a SAHM please give to all the little children
