Name change notification

I changed my name and saw this message, which can only be half read! I checked out FAQ and policies but can't find anything about this.

Can anyone shed any light?

Just fill in one of your usernames and it should let you post.

I see that message on the app if I delete one username and am about to type another.

We're not sure why the whole message isn't displaying so we're checking this for you, but it looks like that line is just setting out our username requirements - 3 or more characters.

We'll get back to you as soon as we have the answer, though!

Hey @EndingSoon - sorry about that! The label shouldn't be truncating, it is supposed to say: "Username required to post on Mumsnet, 3 or more characters."

I went to the top of the page clicked my 'mumsnet' but the words 'my account' just isn't there!!! Nor any space at the bottom of page to allow password change!

I CAN'T find the way or space where I can change my USER name I've looked and looked but go round in circles to no avail -It's HOPELESS!

Or... finally... there is a shortcut if you already have a different name and can remember it perfectly, you can just hit reply on any thread, and in the window where your name is, just replace that name with a previously used one that you can remember.

Once you used that, it will revert to the signed in name though, so it's confusing and I try to only use it when replying to an old thread with that particular username, so I'm not accidentally sock-puppeting! (Got deleted for an hour for doing that once, and had to go running to MN towers to ask what was wrong, which I was mortified about!).

I'm using Firefox and an ordinary laptop not Apple just Android I don't have a smart phone!

No not on Safari - I'm on Firefox and just Android type of laptop no Apps or whatever that means I'm no computer geek I'm afraid - still struggling!!

OMG I've actually managed to do the name change from (1477236968) more luck than judgement - having backtracked to log in through Google having remained logged in all the time - maybe the problem.

Now I've a problem adding any smiley or whatever else it just doesn't work if I try clicking on the long list at the bottom of the page?

I can't help you as I'm not Firefox/android combo but I'm sure if you start your own thread on site stuff then MN will come and point you in the right direction
