Suggestions for further Mumsnet Premium offers

JustineMumsnet · 18/06/2020 09:15

We've launched Mumsnet Premium Deals today and have a number of great offers for Premium members including 10% off Bugaboo.com, £100 off Octopus energy when you switch, 3 months free superfast broadband with Zen, £80 John Lewis voucher when you sign up to Admiral insurance and up to £100 off holidays with Holidays Please.

We'd love to hear from current Premium subscribers what further offers you'd like us to go after as well as from anyone who hasn't subscribed but might be persuaded to with the right offer. Please post your thoughts here and we'll do our damnedest to get the most popular partners on board with great offers. Big thanks.

My favourite brands are Acai, Bamboo Clothing (BAM), Gandys, Howies and Hush. Any offers from these companies would be lovely! Smile

I'm paying for premium. I only use the app. I don't see a single difference?

I logged out and in again as instructed. What functions should I have?

There are no adverts @SciFiScream.

@SciFiScream
There doesn't seem to be any new extras, just the discounts listed (I think).

I’m with admiral and octopus and my broadband is contracted, my daughter is 23 so these offers would simply not apply to me.

I’d sign up if there was technical advantages to doing so. Some site features, for example being able to read all the ops posts in one go and not scroll through hundreds of others.

I’m not sure an offer of a discount elsewhere would do it for me, but if there was something Technically advantageous on the site usage I would.

@Imissmoominmama thanks for the suggestions, we'll bear those in mind.
@Bluntness100 More features (including filter by OP) are coming soon.

I agree with Bluntness100

No amount of deals would make me sign up. I might however be persuaded with substantial technical upgrades.

All of the offers involve me changing huge parts of my bills, changing my fibre broadband that I specifically picked for its speed and unlimited download amount, change my insurance, which again I specifically picked out for the cover I wanted, for a John Lewis voucher or I could change my energy supplier and get a month and a bit free? I think actual money off offers would be better.

Some useful offers there for someone looking for new insurance and switching energy providers - that's me Smile ) .

Having seen the concerted attempts from some quarters to harm Mumsnet, I've been happy to subscribe so this is the icing on the cake! Thank you MNHQ

But these are general offers anyway, not special to MN.
We got offered the Admiral deal when we were looking at car insurance and Octopus are touting the £100 credit all over the internet.

Hi @SciFiScream Using the app with Premium means you won’t see any ads and you’ll have access to other features we’ll release in the future too. You can see the list of Premium offers here.

How many of these are exclusively Mumsnet Premium offers?

And the Admiral one, even though it's a general one open to everyone (not just MN), is not a surprise, seeing as Justine is a non-Executive Director. Does she earn extra pennies if the MN minions take out a policy?
Report
JustineMumsnet · 18/06/2020 12:58

No, Carandi, to be clear I don't earn any 'extra pennies' from the Admiral offer - and Mumsnet doesn't earn any affiliate fees from any of these offers. For instance, Octopus energy offer £50 off and a £50 referral fee elsewhere but we are passing the entire £100 off to premium members and you won't find that anywhere else. (And I'm really not quite sure what you mean by minions Confused).

If there were adverts before I never noticed them! Grin

I'd like tech tricks too. I beta tested the find poster feature and I LOVED it. I was so sad when the beta test ended...

Hi SciFi - we are working on that feature as we speak. Filter by OP is going to be for all users, filter by user will be an additional premium feature. So... it's coming soon!

Maybe I'm a numpty but is there an easy way to pick up a thread from where I last posted as opposed to going to the end of the thread and having to track back?

Takingabreakagain · 18/06/2020 18:09

@GuiltyBark
You could maybe bookmark your own post then when you click on the thread again it will go to your post.

It would be great if the search function was also managed by date as some posts that come up are so old...

The product tests used to be brilliant. Can we get priority on the ones where we fit the criteria?

Also, would love more stuff for us, rather than for babies. My babies are 18 and 20.

And remember not all of us are in the UK. So as much as I’m happy to pay the subscription for premium, I and many others are not going to get the same benefits. This may be a byproduct of being on a UK site but we can’t join in competitions etc.

I'd pay if I could have a block poster option and could only see posts by the OP on threads.

Mind you, if I did block everyone who had ever pissed me off there would only be about three of you left Grin
