To introduce 'like/dislike' on comments

Not sure if it's just me but there are so many comments/follow up comments I would like to hit 'like' on but don't necessarily feel the need to comment.

Come on Mumsnet get to it Grin

Hi op. This suggestion comes up on a regular basis. You will find from the comments that you get below that it is a very unpopular idea. Mumsnet won't do it.

Oh ok, that seems strange as it's potentially less offensive than a comment. Sometimes I read a comment and think yes, spot on but don't feel the need to comment.

No thanks OP, think we’re ok as we are Smile.

Introducing likes/dislikes drives down real interaction and has been shown to put people off posting in the first place due to fears their posts will be subject to a visible popularity contest. It's not a good idea if you want to encourage a forum where people genuinely engage with each other Smile

No, this isn’t Reddit

Fair enough. Sometimes I just read a comment and I agree wholeheartedly but I don't feel the need to repeat exactly what that person has said. Sometimes, some people are just downright rude.

Was just a thought Smile
