Is it a test?

The bit about teachers doesn't read very well.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 02/07/2007 12:27

i was thinking that too

was it the kids' teeth thing. though i haven't a clue if that's right or not. good tip though, funny.

Tentiebug · 02/07/2007 12:28

that makes 3 of us thinking the same

is it 'unfinishable'? doesn't look quite right to me....

Is it not even a word?

Report
chopster · 02/07/2007 12:30

I read the teeth bit, I thought that was right, because she was referring to kids in the plural, so all of your childrens' teeth. rather than one kid's teeth.

Or is it the extra speech mark at the end of the quote on the mumsnet in the news section.

Is it 'unfinishable'? I don't think it's a real word but it's an appropriate title, I guess.

The word 'teacher' is missing from the teacher present bit - is that it?

Report
belgo · 02/07/2007 12:32

is it "natural" being in speech marks when it should be in apstrophes?

Report
chopster · 02/07/2007 12:32

ooh megalegs, I think you may be right. That doesn't read right at all.

I still think the extra speech mark needs deleting too though.

Should it be "Bring out the Branston"?

Report
chopster · 02/07/2007 12:33

they use loads of speech marks instead of apostrophes, I hate that, it's one of my pet peeves, but seems to be in common usage.

I really don't have the time to search for my colleagues' glaring mistakes... can you just tell me what it is and I'll fix it? Ta v much

Report
MegaLegs · 02/07/2007 12:33

Also should India be a Sunday Times' columnist? I never get apostrophes on words ending with s right though.

Report
fanella · 02/07/2007 12:35

should it be - mum's net?

The India Knight one is just being picky Run it past Google and see how many times you see someone referred to as a Sunday Times' columnist. For some reason you don't.

I've added teacher, btw, even though it reads like an Ant and Bee book now.

MegaLegs · 02/07/2007 12:44

Picky yes - but then isn't that what being pedantic is all about
