Mnhq, Please look into and fix the videos automatically playing on the site!

I think it's the videos on the side of the screen when you reading a thread.

I'm using puffin on an iPad.

Thanks for getting in touch. We're sorry to hear this is happening - we did have some issues with it before, but we thought it was resolved now.

Could we have a bit more information about what's going on? Is this only happening on certain pages? Are there any specific videos you've seen autoplaying?

Yes, the Walking on Eggshells one and another where Claire somebody says "Pregnancy is GROSS." Not the best thing on a parenting website, is it? I'm on Google Chrome on the desktop site.

Can you continue to let us know what the auto-playing adverts are for? And what devices and browsers you're using?

Also, is there any chance you're clicking accidentally? (Sorry - we do have to ask...)

Yes, it's been happening to me today and just has again - it's the coercive control advert (no irony intended) that has just played for me. Laptop, Firefox. Absolutely no chance that I am clicking it accidentally.

I'm having this, it's been going on foe several days. First ad was Ink, and at times there were 2 of them going at the same time. That seems to have gone and today I've got the walking on eggshells one. I'm on Puffin on an iPad.

It's happening to me. I'm on the desktop site too. I don't really want to know how to make microwave mac and cheese! I'm definitely not clicking on it - in fact I've been deliberately making sure I avoid the curser going on it as I try to get to my scroll bar down the right of my screen - but the videos still keep starting up randomly! I'm mainly on Chat and AIBU if that's any help.

There was a site wide announcement that videos would autoplay on the pregnancy topic, without Sound. I think this is expected. (it is still annoying though imo) If people are seeing them with sound, that might be another issue entirely.

Mine are on almost every topic! With sound. In fact this seems to be the only topic where they are not playing.

Using a laptop and getting the same ones as mentioned above. Just now have one for Microwave Mac and Cheese in 5 minutes which for some reason hasn't started playing - yet but am not holding my breath.

Not only that, but it is actually Macaroni Cheese as I am in the UK so it looks very wrong indeed.

I've just realised that normally I have the sound off on my laptop but had to turn it on today so this has probably been happening for a while and I didn't know.

I've just had the one about tech, and yes, why would you call in Mac and Cheese for a mainly UK audience
