And what happened to the parenting round-up this week.

And could you please clarify the days these are due and the frequency.

I got my roundup this week, but haven't had anything previous to that for a few weeks

Parenting Roundup (Mumsnet news) is on a Thursday

My Fabulous Roundup is on a Friday

Have you got a Junk Mail folder? Maybe they are in there?

SlightlyMadSugar Fri 22-Jun-07 22:06:56

Nope - not in spam.

I had problems when they (the important MP one) first came out due to being on AOL. TEch put it down to having adverts/sponsorship which weren't compatible with AOL and he tinkered and they have been fine since.

I think the parenting have always been sporadic. I have assumed they are fortnightly or something?

Posey Fri 22-Jun-07 22:07:32

I get mine regular as clockwork on Thurs and Fridays. Strange.
BTW The good/bad/ugly made me really chuckle this week. I don't know how you do it MorningPaper

SlightlyMadSugar Fri 22-Jun-07 22:07:54

I know there is a link to them somewhere....perhaps tech could put that in a prominent place so we can look online rather than via email?

morningpaper Fri 22-Jun-07 22:09:11

there is a link to mine, let me find it

it's secret though, don't tell anyone

Thank you posey, youa re VERY lovely

This week was easy because there was so much in the way of funny bumsex and baking excitement, I had LOTS of material

SlightlyMadSugar Fri 22-Jun-07 22:12:48

TY...tech still needs to get his finger out and get it sorted though....or I will not be sending him a Christmas card....

AttilaTheMum Fri 22-Jun-07 22:13:08

I have them both now - the parenting news was sent yesterday at about half past three & MP's talk round up at quarter past one today.
Mind you, I also have yet another update from the Canadian online pharmacy which is so keen to sell me Viagra, so obviously my junk filter is not very strict....

SlightlyMadSugar Fri 22-Jun-07 22:17:14

I stand corrected. I was looking at wrong email account...my spam filter ate them. I have now fished them out, dusted them down and had a good chuckle.

Now next question. How do I change my rgistered email address and can you gurantee it won't go tits up?

AttilaTheMum Fri 22-Jun-07 22:22:19

btw does anyone know why all my Viagra spam comes from Canadian pharmacies? Is it the long cold winters...?

Tech (MNHQ) Sat 23-Jun-07 11:58:39

Hi SlightlyMadSugar, to change your registered email address go to the "my mumsnet" link at the top of this page then "Registration Details" or go [http://www.mumsnet.com/member/MemberPage?call=PrivateProfile here]] to get straight there. Change your email address there and click save. It should be OK.

We can't guarantee email delivery though. We only control it as far as handing mail over to AOL or whoever. If they decided it's junk and bin it, we can't stop them I'm afraid. What can happen is that people on AOL get the mail and think "I don't remember asking for this" so they click the "This is Spam" thing in AOL mail. That can make it more likely that other mail from us will get blocked in future. AOL reportedly blocks over 2 billion pieces of mail a day. Depending on your aol mail settings, it might help to add mumsnet@mumsnet.com to your aol address book. We'll look into getting ourselves on AOL's "good guys" list as well, which will also help.

Tech (MNHQ) Sat 23-Jun-07 12:03:40

On the other topic, in the US the idea of getting cheap drugs from Canada is a bit of a talking point. You generally pay for your prescriptions in America (ie you buy the drugs at full cost which can be very high). Though most people are insured, many aren't and even some of those who are insured won't be covered for prescriptions, or may have a very high "co-payment". So there's a lot of interest, especially among older people, in sourcing drugs from Canada to save money. I guess the spammers are making out their viagra supply is cheap...
