Fuck off

Is it, or is it not, breaking TGs to tell another poster to fuck off?

Clarification needed please HQ as it seems to depend on who says it and to whom.

One of my rare deletions years ago was for telling someone to Fuck off (under considerable provocation - they had hoped my child would die. I was deleted, they were not Hmm)

So it certainly used to be.

Is it being left now then?

I first joined MN about 10 years ago and it was ok then. But more recently it became a deletable offence. I registered again earlier this year after a few months break so Im not sure of the rules nowadays.
I have seen posts deleted for it lately, also seen others left up.

Could it be though that the posts not deleted are the ones not reported?

I don’t think you can directly tell another poster to duck off. I’ve seen those deleted as personal attacks.

Clearly my phone has some sort of censored mode on!

You can't say @user1495832265, fuck off.

You can say Is it, or is it not, breaking TGs to tell another poster to fuck off? - fuck that.

You can also say I can't respond, it would be against the talk guidelines. My second word was going to be "off"

Await reply from HQ on this one.
Seems it’s ok for certain posters to tell others to fuck off, while others will be deleted.

Never seen a fuck off that wasn't in jest, but stood.

HQ don't patrol the boards. A f off wouldn't necessarily be spotted as a standalone unless the thread was already on the OTW list. If reported then a deletion.

Has someone told you to f off and the post still up, OP?

Report
paxillin · 03/12/2017 23:15

I assume it wasn't reported then. I can't imagine it being left up otherwise.

If the poster is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, asking for it (eg MRA or spammer) then ODFODs don’t get deleted, but the threads tend to get pulled anyway.

I seems to be more down to the mod. I was deleted yesterday for telling someone to consider flower arranging if they couldn't cope with mns stance on troll hunting, not sure which snowflake was offended by that Grin. On the other hand I've suggested far worse and it hasn't been deleted. All varies daily ime.

paxillin · 04/12/2017 07:59

Anything deemed a personal attack will be deleted if someone reports it. Fuck off always qualifies if reported I'd say.

Disclaimer: whilst being the proposed flower arranger I didn't report it.

I told a particularly unpleasant poster to fuck off yesterday. In a later post I referred to her as an idiot.

Fuck off stayed - idiot deleted Grin along with all of her posts because she was being a troll hunting cunt

I agree with PPs in that deletions only happen if the PA is reported. No buzzer goes off automatically at MNHQ.

'Anything deemed a personal attack will be deleted if someone reports it.'
Yes which is good, as plenty of people do think they can be aggressive and it's ok because they are right. My point was if suggesting someone takes up flower arranging is now considered a personal attack then there'll be more deletions than posts.

paxillin · 04/12/2017 08:39

You can take off the halo, it was meant and formulated as a personal attack designed to make me look ridiculous. As I said, I didn't report it or ask for it to be deleted, but it was just a cattier version of "fuck off".

Sounds like you were having a pop at someone to me.
