MN, PLEASE fix this advertising bar at the top of the computer screen.

It is so large, that I can't actually click on any of the MN links that are at the top of the page. (eg, active, I'm on, etc).

Right now, on Site Stuff, I can't even click 'Site Stuff' to get other threads in this section. It's hidden by the ad, which is NOT scrolling up and away the way I've seen others do. It's just sitting there. The ONLY threads I can get onto are the active ones on the right hand side of the screen, and only the ones lower down the list as the top ones are hidden by the Ad. (Experian and Marks and Spencers, are the two so far....)

You did this before, we all complained, you apologised and said it shouldn't have been loaded on as you were testing something new. I really hope this was a mistake, because it is IMPOSSIBLE to navigate the site.

I use adblock and I get this on the top bar now. No I won't whitelist MN because while this is irritating at least I can click where I want to. I do whitelist some sites I use a lot, but not sites where the ads are OTT, have a history of security issues and interfere with basic functionality.

Please consider introducing an ad-free subscription version for those of us who would like to help you keep the lights on but who are not prepared to put up with the way you use ads on the site.

I just got the "whitelist" message on my top bar too. Not sure why, as I haven't changed my ad block settings, but maybe it's the public wifi I'm on?

The list of offending ads is growing........

I wonder how happy they would be with MN if I banned their ads through AdChoice because MN can't make the ads work properly. Not going to help you 'keep the lights on' then, will it?!

Its making posting on MN a bit like a video game , You have to have very good hand eye coordination to make sure you can click on the menu or advanced search before the whacking great ad comes down.
Why hasn't it got an X in the corner so I can close it?

I've got the whitelist thingy as well today. Am at home and haven't changed anything so it must be something introduced at MN's end.

I'm not fast enough MrsDV!

And on that note I'm giving up. Can't be bothered anymore. Well done MN, for the first time in AGES I'm actually closing down the MN tab.

The top AdChoice ad drives me mad. It's too deep and makes the screen jump around. Love MrsDV's comment about hand/eye co-ordination!

Thank god it's not just me! I can't access any of the talk categories because the top advert bar thingy isn't disappearing like it usually does. It's annoying enough to have to wait for it to go away but now that it's not budging it's making me want to wallop my screen!! (am usually a very calm and collected type)

Hope the tech guys can fix it asap Mumsnet
