Double standards???

So how does this work then? One moment I'm a "known", valued mumsnetter and the next I'm reported as a troll and my perfectly reasonable thread is deleted? As I clearly stated, it was not a random thread but started in response to the same discussion that was going on at the same time on R4. I had hoped for a genuine discussion on the issue.

Double standards???

Hi there DianaMitford,

The reason we removed your thread was because we had an awful lot of reports in a quite a short space of time. The thread very quickly went downhill and we felt it was best it came down.

We do appreciate that this was something discussed on the radio - but folks saw your username and felt it was a bit too coincidental to be real. We simply dealt with the thread as we would any other; as we do have to treat all users as evenly and fairly as possible.

We hope that clears things up a bit but please do drop us a line at [email protected] (or by reporting) and we'll happily discuss further.

Ah, ok. I hadn't actually made the link between my username and subject matter. It just didn't occur to me. Thanks for the reply.
