Hi
Very intrusive! The box pops up and cannot be closed. It is appearing currently tv addicts.

Any chance this could be sorted as it's making reading the forum impossible.

Thanks smile

Yes, it is intensely irritating isn't it? MN have responded to a previous thread in Site Stuff about it here. The only way I've found to get rid is to agree to subscribe to this bloody newsletter. I will be unsubscribing at the first opportunity.

MyBeloved Sun 16-Apr-17 16:35:51

Ah thank you tribpot. I shan't be subscribing, but will wait until MNHQ have sorted this out. Yes, it is indeed intensely annoying!

tribpot Sun 16-Apr-17 16:42:30

I don't blame you, MyBeloved. It is incredibly poor form to require a sign up like this - MN should be disabling the popup until they can get it to work properly but I would imagine they have no tech support over the weekend.

EmmanuelleMumsnet (MNHQ) Sun 16-Apr-17 16:51:27

We're so sorry about this. We've made tech aware and hope to come back to you with an update soon.

MyBeloved Sun 16-Apr-17 17:02:01

Thank you smile

I am close to ditching mumsent after the issue a week or so ago and now this.

SoulAccount Sun 16-Apr-17 18:29:40

It's driving me MAD!

How can you do this on the day of the last Homeland episode on the series? How can we discuss it as it unfolds? It freezes the bloody page.

And tension is hotting up towards the last Broadchurch tomorrow.

Tech, could we kindly interrupt and request you finish your Lindt bunny later?

I really don't want to subscribe. I have enough in my Inbox and I am

Thegirlinthefireplace Sun 16-Apr-17 18:34:46

I won't be watching Homeland until tomorrow but I like reading everyone's live comments so agree, bad timing!

FATEdestiny Sun 16-Apr-17 19:24:21

Just coming to say the same thing. Cross in the corner doesn't function, no means to click off the pop up.

BeyondUser24601 Sun 16-Apr-17 19:54:14

Yep, I'm here to say the same thing too...

BlackeyedPetitsPois Sun 16-Apr-17 22:04:45

Same here. Had to click subscribe to close the bloody thing.

wigglesrock Sun 16-Apr-17 22:37:42

I've just had to come out of the latest Line of Duty thread and open up MN again to be able to do anything on MN. I couldn't close the box and I couldn't leave the page or click on another topic. I'm not subscribing to anything, thanks all the same.

HelenaDove Sun 16-Apr-17 23:16:59

Its made the site unusable and you have to come out of the site and come back in again.

Same problem here. I want to discuss the last Broadchurch.

Glossolalia Mon 17-Apr-17 22:14:23

It's awful. Not very user friendly and makes the site seem very desperate for sign ups.

MyBeloved Mon 17-Apr-17 23:26:57

Still happening MNHQ!

MyBeloved Mon 17-Apr-17 23:28:29

specialsubject, I can't believe you subscribed and the bastard box is still there! How frustrating!
