Just a bit disappointed with new report system

There have been several threads lately where I have had to use the report button several times as some of the replies to sensitive threads have made distressing reading.

I'm really disappointed to see such posts left up. It used to be that when you reported, you got a reply and they'd either remove the post or state why they thought it should be left up. Now? Nothing.

AIBU is particularly bad and I'm not trying to cause a fight. I would just put this in the report function if I thought it would be read. I see them same posters pop up time and time again, arguing virtually for the sake of it at times. I don't see the point of this particular section anyway as the question could be asked anywhere and it won't have the same culture as 'this is AIBU and if you can't stand the heat....' My point is that people don't come on the Internet to 'handle' it anyway. Most people come on for a chat or a bit of tea and sympathy if things are going awry. I'm not against a bit of honesty if required but it does seemed to be delivered in a particularly unpleasant way.

Hi there OP

Thanks for the feedback.

We're so sorry to hear that you're feeling this way.

We did change our policy a few months back and you can see our reasons and have a read over here.

We still read every single report and take action accordingly - we will always remove posts that break our Talk Guidelines.
