Does the 'hide' function not work in the iOS app?

Trying to hide a thread. It's still there on my "threads I'm on" list.

I'm on an iPhone 6s on the latest iOS update

Anyone else having this problem?

Hi there BitOut,
Guess what we're going to say... have you tried clearing your cache etc?
Would you mind giving it a try and getting back to us?

Follow these steps to clear out the Safari cache:
Press Settings > Safari.
Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data.
Tap Clear History and Data.

Hi Helen!

Guess what I'm going to say! Grin

I did that and it still doesn't work. That pesky thread is still on my "I'm on" list

Thanks for coming back to us so quickly BitOut.

We'll flag this one to Tech and come back to you asap. If anything changes would you mind popping on here to let us know?

Thank you!

FYI I'm on the desktop site now and the thread I hid on the app is hidden on here but still visible on the app!

Hallo again,

So - tech say that once you've posted on a thread, you won't then be able to hide it from TIO, as it's primary function is to stop threads popping up in active. Sorry about that! Hope this clears things up, anyway.

You're telling me I have to exercise my own actual willpower not to open threads that are annoying the bejeezus out of me? Shock

I'm appalled! Wink

It's a lot to ask we realise! Good luck resisting temptation Smile

There's still something not quite right with TIO - on the test app at any rate. It's not updating with new threads until I formally switch off the iPad. (I don't know the situation on iPhones and I haven't tried to flush the RAM by other means - maybe it's that.)

The minute I switch on again, formally (i.e. not when the device is in Snooze mode), I have a completely different TIO.

Hi @cozietoesie thanks for the feedback - the TIO should update whenever you create a thread, or add a post. If not, pulling to refresh should show the new/updated threads.

If the app either:

  1. Fails to show the new thread in TIO after creating a thread
  2. Fails to show the new thread in TIO after pulling down to refresh

Please let me know! I can look into your specific case to find out why that's happening.

Thanks for that Tim. (Sorry for the delay.) A forced refresh seems to do it. Smile
