A respected talk forum. Social media. Do you think foreign countries have people who come on MN to try to influence opinion, spread false truths, repeatedly post on certain topics and generally try to affect UK thinking?

Yes. Because how you tackle your smelly washing machine matters to us in Russia. Ooops, outed myself - don't tell anyone!

From what I have read about Russians using the Internet in precisely this way then yes I suspect there is a strong probability.

Yes, probably . I don't think they bother with the home and harden threads though. Mainly Aibu and politics.

I've suspected this for some time. I doubt we're the FSB's #1 target or anything but on a few issues the messaging is so completely uniform and always couched in the same way.

I suspect we're one of the nursery slopes. The ones who pass muster here are sent on to Reddit...

"a respected talk forum" "social media".

Are they in the same sentence?

An oxymoronic one?

Surely the gin emoticon would be voddy if the Russkies were here? Or is that Another Cunning Plot to keep us in the dark?

I like to imagine them being bemused by threads about switching energy supplier.
