Why can't i hide guest posts from Active?

I suffer from anxiety, and some (a lot) of the guest posts are about stuff that triggers my anxiety - eg child death, terminal illness etc.

Why isn't hiding these an option ?

Hi There Namejustfornappies,
So sorry to hear this can trigger your anxiety.
If there is a hide thread button available, it will always be at the very top like on a regular thread.

Can I just check if you're asking about the trending block (top right of page) as unfortunately, there's no way to hide this.....

Do let us know if we've understood and we'll do our best to help.

Smile

Please bring the hide thread option into the android app too.

Thanks Fliss

What I'm talking about is when on in my phone, using Chrome, and go on active threads - so get a list of the latest threads to be posted on. On the RHS there are 3 dots which when clicked on give options to watch, hide. With guest posts I can only watch, I cannot hide?

Hi again OP. Don't know if this helps but if you want to hide ALL guest posts, you should be able to do that. It might be easier to do it on the main site rather than from mobile, but if you hit the arrow by the word TALK under the Mumsnet logo on any thread, then hit 'customise' and scroll down to the bottom, there's an option to 'manage hidden topics and threads'. You'll want to check 'bloggers talk - guest posts'. Does that sort the problem for you or did you only want to 'unsee' specific guest posts?

That could work for me, thanks. Some guest posts are really interesting and don't trigger my anxiety at all, it's just that seeing them come up every time I hit Active gets to me a bit.
Sorry to be a pain, and thanks again Flowers
