How to leave a thread??

Or edit and delete messages?

Occasionally I post before checking auto correct. Is it possible to edit? I haven't been able to see how. Or indeed delete? Also how do I remove myself from a thread or stop seeing new messages on threads? Some threads just go on and on...

You can't edit. To leave a thread you can just stop going on there, or hide it so it doesn't come up in active.

There is no edit function on Mumsnet and you can't delete your own posts. Not sure what you mean by "leave a thread" ... surely you just stop looking at it?

You can report your own comment and ask for it to be deleted.
You can hide the thread from yourself.

bibbity I mean how can I stop getting notifications about a thread? leave it, so to speak. I tried to unwatch it but that didn't work.

So do I have to request for my comments to be deleted inorder to stop getting notifications?

Too bad about the edit feature, or lack there of. I'm a hasty poster with loose thumbs at times.

You can turn off notifications in 'customise'. On the desktop site you get there by clicking the little down arrow next to 'Talk' at the top of the page. Don't know where it is on the mobile site or app because I don't really use those. It's all or nothing though, you can't just turn off notifications for one thread.

You can change notifications in your mumsnet account settings. The inky time I get any notification is when someone replies to me directly and uses the @ before my username, which I think is nifty and something I didn't realise had been introduced.

So if you turned off notifications and also hid a thread (not just unwatched) you'll not be bothered by it again, unless someone replies to directly, in which case you could just ignore that alert.

Ok thanks!

I'll have to check out the desk top MN, to date I've only used the app. 👍

You can 'edit' if you use Preview Message before you actually Post Message. But once it's posted you can't edit it thereafter.

Having said that, I don't know whether the Preview Message option exists on the App.

The notifications are when other people post on the thread. And, as PPs have said, you can disable any notifications by going into Customise.
