wasn't it only supposed to be up for one year? as mentioned by @JustineMumsnet on that thread?

That was back in November 15... so why do we still have it? confused

OutDamnedWind Tue 27-Dec-16 09:04:06

I imagine everyone mostly forgot fgrin

MilkTwoSugarsThanks Tue 27-Dec-16 09:04:14

Does it matter? confused

DramaInPyjamas Tue 27-Dec-16 09:05:53

Have you been counting down the days until Nov 15th, desperate to post this thread?

It's only an emoji

00100001 Tue 27-Dec-16 09:06:03

Well considering Cadbury paid MN to only have it for a year, surely they should remove it?

00100001 Tue 27-Dec-16 09:06:52

It's not "Only an emoji"

it's a pieceof blatant advertising that was only supposed tobe up for one year.MN are giving away free advertising to Cadbury

ClarissaDarling Tue 27-Dec-16 09:10:03

chocolate go on, have some.... (Never even noticed was Cadbury so advertising fail there!)

Kirstyinnorway Tue 27-Dec-16 09:10:57

Oh goodness! <eyeroll emoji>

ClarissaDarling Tue 27-Dec-16 09:11:01

Are you a Nestle rep OP and well jell?

MilkTwoSugarsThanks Tue 27-Dec-16 09:13:58

It's crap advertising, I bet 99% of MNers don't know it's there or that it's meant to be Cadbury's.

I bet it's more cost effective to leave it tbh.

00100001 Tue 27-Dec-16 09:14:17

#you found me out clarissa fgrin

CannotEvenDeal Tue 27-Dec-16 09:15:04

I has no idea it was a Cadbury's bar so if anyone's doing free advertising...

DramaInPyjamas Tue 27-Dec-16 09:16:23

"Free advertising to Cadbury."

I knew it was initially a Cadbury sponsored emoji, but I doubt many other people do, care or even remember the origin of it.

So it is just an emoji, of a bar of chocolate.
Surely nobody sees it being posted and immediately runs out to buy a Dairy Milk?

NotStoppedAllDay Tue 27-Dec-16 09:21:28

Ffs this place is so petty!!

It's cadburys, that's all

GingerHollyandIvy Tue 27-Dec-16 09:23:57

I'm going to now only use it in place of the word "shit". Cadburys is now my "shit" emoji. grin.

No chocolate Sherlock. grin

ClarissaDarling Tue 27-Dec-16 09:27:57

Can I have a free mountain of jelly tots then please OP?!halo

MyNewBearTotoro Tue 27-Dec-16 09:31:17

I never even realised it was Cadbury. I suppose if I look at it close up and squint I can sort of see that that yellow squiggle could say Cadbury, but I always just thought it was a generic chocolate emoji.

hugoagogo Tue 27-Dec-16 09:36:23

I think it's a good point, many of us were pretty fed up about the mondelez deal and would prefer their little ad not to become part of the furniture.

00100001 Tue 27-Dec-16 09:38:25

Thank you hugo at least one other person "gets it"!

DramaInPyjamas Tue 27-Dec-16 09:49:22

I looked at the thread you linked to earlier OP and it had purple bars of chocolate - I looked again and now the emojis are gone from that thread and the chocolate has changed to red.

DramaInPyjamas Tue 27-Dec-16 09:50:21

Or were they always red? I don't actually know tbh.
See nobody really takes notice, do they

hugoagogo Tue 27-Dec-16 09:54:56

Binary's linked thread has official purple emoticons for me and there is still an option for it under the text box.
( my red choc bar above is a generic one)

00100001 Tue 27-Dec-16 10:01:43

they are definitely purple

OutDamnedWind Tue 27-Dec-16 10:18:41

Well I'd never noticed it says Cadbury on it! Despite being flippant earlier, I do get it. If the chocolate emoticon stays perhaps a change of wrapper could be made. Many are unenamoured at best with Cadbury at the moment, there's no good reason for MN to keep up the advertising, presumably for free at this point, no matter how crap and unobvious it is.

Also love the idea that the OP was counting down the days to Nov 15 to post this, but decided to wait another month just to make sure fgrin

DramaInPyjamas Tue 27-Dec-16 10:24:21

They are red on my phone
