Ads covering content

I keep getting this ad that's stopping me from reading the thread. It also stays on top of the content when you scroll. Closing it has no effect, only the top strip disappears. Reloading after closing means it comes back. Also one from a different advertiser yesterday. Mobile site on Android with chrome.

Yep. Me too. Except mine is an ad for a local carpet cleaning company. I'm on the mobile site, on Android with Chrome too.

Installing Adblock plus should fix this.

I know MN relies on advertising revenue but the ads were making the site unusable for me.

BoreOfWhabylon I've not had any success with adblock on my tablet (not tried recently though), can you advise? I have it on my desktop though, agree it's very useful.

Me too! It is SO annoying and i cannot use the site. Closing ad does nothing it still stays there and follows me as i scroll down leaving only 2 lines of each post visible.

There are 3 other threads just below yours on exactly this. MN have responded several times and are looking into it Smile

GlowWine I have an ipad - have you tried googling adblock plus for tablets? I'm sure they will have something.
