The messages are mainly 'just bumping for you' (that's almost all they ever post and the NN is similar.

What's that likely to be about?

Tabloid journalist?
Sockpuppet?
Eccentric?

It's a little bit creepy.

WicksEnd Sat 12-Nov-16 23:39:59

Maybe it's just a kind poster who is a semi lurker?

<just bumping for you> grin

Manumission Sat 12-Nov-16 23:43:11

grin

Would a lurker JUST bump? confused

I just don't get it. It's not even a consistently DM-suitable range of threads (or maybe it is). It's bugging me.

I've see this too and for no logical reason thought it was Mumsnet HQ bumping posts where the op sounded like they needed help. You have now got me wondering though.
Maybe there's a king/queen of the internet somewhere leaping to the aid of the downtrodden and ignored?

Manumission Sat 12-Nov-16 23:48:46

Hmm. Like a caped poster? smile

Maybe wick was semi-confessing smile

WicksEnd Sun 13-Nov-16 13:20:46

''Tis not I! Honest!
PM them, go on..... want to know now. grin

MistresssIggi Sun 13-Nov-16 16:56:37

They have a bump-fetish.
(And I am not being bump-fetish-phobic before anyone says anything)

DoItTooJulia Sun 13-Nov-16 16:59:50

Isn't there a bump and reset function somewhere? Or sommat like that. On Threads I'm Watching? Or have I lost the plot?

StillaChocoholic Sun 13-Nov-16 17:00:35

Sometimes people go through unanswered threads and bump them or answer as many as possible, maybe it's something like that.

Coconutty Sun 13-Nov-16 17:02:17

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Scrowy Sun 13-Nov-16 17:03:04

Hmm I just tried the bump and reset button on this thread. Don't think it did much...

BIWI Sun 13-Nov-16 17:03:23

Who is it?

TheSpottedZebra Sun 13-Nov-16 17:05:06

No they post sometimes. I saw them post yesterday. I think it's someone just trying to be nice.

EssentialHummus Sun 13-Nov-16 17:10:39

I think she's called JustBumping.

insancerre Sun 13-Nov-16 17:13:15

cos people are just weird

bibbitybobbityyhat Sun 13-Nov-16 18:24:25

Aww, is it the return of PuzzleRocks?

I think whoever it is is just trying to be helpful and bumping threads so that people get at least some answers. There are loads of unanswered messages ... seems sad somehow sad.

Arfarfanarf Sun 13-Nov-16 18:26:53

It's probably someone who does it to be kind but has a different username for chatting.

IsadoraJ Sun 13-Nov-16 20:20:09

I think it says a lot that you've all jumped to calling troll. I don't post much but even I've seen the "there's X amount of unanswered threads, let's help them" threads.
They're just trying to help people get answers.

MrsLettuce Sun 13-Nov-16 20:23:08

yy PuzzleRocks always at it and same message. I thought it was sweet. People didn't seem quite so put out about that though confused

Arfarfanarf Sun 13-Nov-16 21:19:40

All?
I dont think that's true now, is it?

Manumission Sun 13-Nov-16 21:29:23

I'm not put out if it's benign.

Just a bit weirded out when I noticed it and ASed the NN. And twitchy from the Daily Mail shenanigans

JustAnotherSadOldNumber Mon 14-Nov-16 08:18:31

It might be a bot ad not a real person.

I've suspected for some time that some of the trolls who post barely readable sentences asking for advice about subjects are in fact chat bots.

JustAnotherSadOldNumber Mon 14-Nov-16 08:18:42

and*

WicksEnd Mon 14-Nov-16 08:19:44

Where have we All called troll? That's an odd statement to make.

Manumission Mon 14-Nov-16 11:09:49

What's the purpose of a chatbot?
