Fuck off us deletable!

IzzyIsBusy · 09/09/2016 22:07

Just told a poster to fuck off in response to their patronising comment towards me.

I was deleted.

Has fuck off always been deletable?

Yep it's a personal attack

You can almost get away with 'gosh, I so want to tell you to fuck off right now' Grin

Only when used when speaking to a special snowflake who reports it I'd imagine.

I wouldn't report it tbh, if someone disagrees and says fuck off than that's fair enough. If someone throws personal insults then that's different.

But but it never used to be Confused

And they really did deserve it honest Grin

What about "Oh DO fuck off"??

i find 'don't be ridiculous' or ODFOD works as a non-deleteable alternative :)

But fuck off is a lovely combination of 2 words. Odfod is very twee. Fuck off is soooo much more effective.

I actually was trying to mot get deleted for a personal attack so i said
"Fuck off you patronising poster"
I wanted to say "fuck off you patronising twat" but thought it would be classed as an attack so said poster.

I'm guessing it's the 'patronising poster' bit that got it deleted them!

Report
IzzyIsBusy · 09/09/2016 22:20

But they are. Said poster just admitted they were patronising while dancing with joy at my deleation. While i hide over here in site stuff weeping. Sad

I would have said twat instead of poster had i known i would be deleted anyway. Damn what a waste Angry

Izzy I think that too, mostly on a daily basis! If you'd only put 'fuck off' that'd be fine as it's not a personal attack!

Can you say "If I were as forthright as you I would tell you to Fuck Off"?

Given that MN expressly approves ODFOD and translates the acronym in its official list as including the words "Fuck off", it does seem incredibly hypocritical of it to say you're not allowed to say "Fuck off" itself. Perhaps we should all just tell people to Foxtrot Oscar.

I know which thread OP is referring to but don't assume it was the poster you attacked who reported you.

If I see something particularly vicious about another poster I will report it.

I think the acronym version (which I personally would not use as it's not any better than what OP said and I do not swear at any one on here) is a bit like the equivalent of writing n*** as opposed to the full version of that word.

Meant don't know which thread.

Hi all,

Fuck off is deletable if said as a pointed attack at someone, as is ODFOD. However, people do tell each other to fuck off in jest and ODFOD too, it's a context based decision.

Swearing is fine, personal attacks on another poster are not.
It can sometimes be wibbly and humour is subjective Grin so do give us a nudge if you think we've made the wrong call but fuck off as a PA has always been deleted when reported.

Would one be so kind as to depart and attempt procreation with one's self, if that isn't too troublesome?

You can copy and paste what they said and then add a "fuck that". Like this:

Has fuck off always been deletable? - fuck that.

I once wrote that "Duck off over there and keep ducking off until you get back here and then duck off again" as a joke and I got banned Blush

Given that MN expressly approves ODFOD and translates the acronym in its official list as including the words "Fuck off"

But it can be used as a joke or as a suggestion for how to deal with someone IRL. Otherwise I think it's treated as a PA.
