Can you hide a whole topic?

I see there are options to hide individual posts, but can't see how to hide a topic completely, I'm sure I've seen people mentioning that they've done this though!
Any help appreciated

Talk - customise. List of all topics you can hide.

Does have to be on a tablet or laptop, not phone.
