Jeffing Sidebar Ads

The ads down both sides of the screen when I am in desktop are giving me a migraine - please can you tell me how to get rid of them?

Get yourself an adblock extension for your browser (just Google AdBlock and whichever browser you use and install it) and you'll cease seeing ads everywhere. Not very nice for MN's bottom line but a workaround nonetheless, you can set it up to allow ads on preferred sites or only block ads on certain sites.

God, they're awful, aren't they? Suddenly had the whitespace on either side of the list of active threads invaded by Specsavers. I might have been able to cope but the bloody things scroll down with you.

I found that resizing the browser made them go away. No whitespace - no rolling ad horror.

they are really bugging me too as they get rid of the much-begged for buttons attached to the social media buttons that allow me to go back to the active convos list. So not only have they disappeared, I now have to scroll all the way up to the top again with the bloody ads following me. I'm getting awfully dizzy.

It's the scrolling down with me that was given me blurry eyes. Anyway, I've downloaded the ad blocker and it's all good.
