Do you have a baby, toddler, or preschooler? Fancy meeting up with other MNers to share tips and battle scars about the early years, for the benefit of other parents and about-to-be parents?

We're making a series of podcasts (to be hosted by the lovely Fi Glover of BBC Radio 4 fame) about parenting babies and small children, and we'd love to hear from you if you're interested in taking part. Recording will take place in London in early September, so this will probably suit someone who lives south-east-ish; children are of course welcome (unless you'd relish the break Wink.)

If you'd like to hear more, either post here on the thread (we'll mail you back), or drop us a line at [email protected] with 'podcast' in the subject line. Let us know how old your DC are, and a little bit more about you and your family if poss.

We're also specifically looking for:
Vegetarian parents who've also done baby-led weaning
Parents who've dealt with colic or eczema
Parents who swaddle or co-sleep

Thanks v much,

MNHQ

Wotcha. I'd be up for this - I have two DC, a girl age 4 and a boy of two. We live in Herts, DH works in the city, I'm a SAHM. DD is about to start school. I'm originally from the NE, DH is from Hampshire, and we met in London. Have been together for 12 years and married for eight.

Nothing especially unusual about us, but I do love to chat, and I'm told I'm refreshingly honest about parenthood!

I'd love to take part!

I live in London and have a 15 month old DD. We did BLW, and follow attachment parenting - still co-sleeping, still breastfeeding, still baby wearing (haven't used a buggy in over 10 months), no sleep training etc. Following vaguely Montessori principles. Low meat diet but not strictly vegetarian. I quit my job as a senior press officer in govt. to teach Hypnobirthing and stay home with her.

Sounds interesting! I'm a multimedia journalist (main background in radio) - have decided to go freelance now mat leave with my second son is over. Will be a SAHM for a bit at least. Have 2 boys- one is 3, the other turns 1 tomorrow. Both have had bad reflux & are on the small side which has been stressful at times. I have inflammatory bowel disease so managing that through 2 pregnancies etc has been interesting! Would love to take part in this.

I'm interested in taking part in this.

Been with my partner for 11 years, married for almost 1. DS1 is 2 years old, number two will arrive December. DS1 had bad reflux and glue ear, neither of which we realised until much later, after much sitting around just thinking all this was normal, which I suppose it kind of is! Will be interesting to find out how different our approach is second time around...

DH is a teacher, I'm a writer/editor now freelance and working from home following redundancy on mat leave (the kick up the backside I needed).

Hi, I'd love to take part. Immune to one LO who's just turned 2. He was a preemie and now has multiple food allergies. I try to parent gently, breastfed until 21 months, followed baby led weaning and still baby wear when my chronic pain doesn't prevent him. I'm a stay at home mum and am taking the opportunity to work on building up my food writing and recipe development while I'm at home.

DH and I are ttc no2 and a fairly typical family aside from my disabilities.

Hi there, I am a working Mum who lives in West London and I have a DD who is 4 years old.

I would be really interested to join in on this podcast. As I have an only child I would like to discuss how this has made parenting both a challenge and a joy!

Please do contact me as I love to chat and have recently started my own blog.

I'd be keen to get involved. Mum to two - riddler and a baby. Co-sleeping with baby currently and have done with the toddler too.

Able to share perspective on raising two children close in age.

I live in Orpington and work in central London. DD will be 3yrs 8 mo by the sept podcast date.
As per your request for participants with particular experience in certain areas...
We still co-sleep for most of every night and have done from the first couple of weeks.
I was vegetarian for 13 years (pescatarian really) but ended up eating starting to eat meat again when we did baby led weaning- DD Has been a bit of a fussy eater but seemed to like DH's chicken dinners.
We breastfed until nearly 3 1/2.
DD had tongue tie which wasn't identified and released until about 8 weeks and then it readhered and had to be released again around 10 weeks. we had major difficulty breastfeeding and getting adequate support from health visitors, GP & hospital. Other mums and NCT breastfeeding counsellors helped immensely, so I try to pass on what I have learned to friends with new babies so that they don't have to struggle and feel as low as I did for the first 4+ months.
I'd be very interested in participating in the podcast.

Oh yeah, we also delt with eczema. It was a little worrying at the time but not as severe as other babies.

Let us know if you need any other info about us.

Would be interested to learn more: 3 children, accidental co-sleeper, for example tonight 4 year old in our bed & baby in the cot! Needs must & all that!
No eczema but plenty of illness & experience. Our household is a real mix between GF & attachment parenting - have read it all, love the routine that Gina offers, but follow the principles of slings, co-sleeping etc from the continuum concept...

Sorry forgot to answer specific requests from post: ages - 10 months, 4 & 6 years old. We have weaned using BLW for two & purée for one. Swaddled all till 6 months & co-slept eldest two, but youngest still in cot! We are just north of London on tube line. Email if fits, if not look forward to listening to the podcast!

Hi vegetarian Londoner here.
I was raised a veggie myself and lived with the benefits and we are now raising DS who is 20mo as a vegetarian. He was BLW from about 9mo.

The first thing he ever ate apart from breast milk was porridge, and he still has a large qty of porridge every morning. It's the most important part of the day!

MNHQ I'll take part but please PM me on here as my registered email address has changed.

What about one with parents of children with Down's syndrome? It's always mentioned on the pregnancy birds as if it would be the worst thing in the world. Would be nice to give the other side of the story.

I'm a paediatrician based in London. I would be happy to add some medical explanations/ perspectives to these problems (reflux, eczema, milk intolerance etc)
