I see Northern Irish posters are looking for their own section on Mumsnet.
May we have an Irish section please ?There appear to be lots of Irish posters on this brilliant forum.

You will, you will, you will, you will....

hollyisalovelyname Thu 07-Jul-16 08:48:45

So that's it so.
Three people interested.

LazyJournalistsQuoteMN Thu 07-Jul-16 08:54:10

I'm interested too. Or else could it be an Irish Board rather than a Northern Irish Board?

MammyToBe1216 Thu 07-Jul-16 09:05:08

I'd be interested too.

JaneJeffer Thu 07-Jul-16 09:15:27

Hmm, I'm not sure if I want this or not because I like mingling with all the different nationalities but it could be handy for finding out what day the Children's Allowance is on each month wink

Scotsnet have their own board and it can be really helpful as a lot of the boards in education for example don't fit our education as we have different systems.

omri Thu 07-Jul-16 09:33:14

Yes would be good for education - that's true. Dc1 is starting junior infants in September so I'll have lots of Ireland-specific questions on that!

hollyisalovelyname Thu 07-Jul-16 15:47:07

There was a good political discussion a few months back after the general election. I think there are quite a few Irish posters on Mumsnet.
I find Mumsnet easier to navigate than Boards. ie

I remember talking about this before, many years ago. There were fewer of us around then, and we reckoned we probably all knew each other irl, or at least your mam's next door neighbour's best friends son would be married to my old school friend.

Or something like that.

I'd like it now, though. It would have been great as I suffered through the leaving cert [sigh] and for politics.

I don't post on (though I do use it for info) because I'm a bit scared. And also, I hate the pages, it's impossible to navigate long threads.

FarelyKnuts Sun 10-Jul-16 12:49:34

How did the leaving cert go Maryz?
