Why is it that on my Mac when I click on the link to open the thread I instead get a download of a textedit document?

Does anyone else have this problem?

I've had the same with 2 other threads: "Bequesting/Gifting a copyright" and "AIBU toast them NOT to buy me a birthday gift". When I click on the link in active threads it downloads a zero bytes TextEdit doc and doesn't take me to the thread. I'm also using a Mac.

I click on the link which I expect to take me to the discussion. Instead it does as chrisrobin says.

Don't know if it's specific to Macs, or is happening on all computers.

Yup, same - on a windows PC using Chrome.
