a 7-axis humanoid robot arm.

Seriously MN. WTF are your advertising company smoking? No other website on the internet thinks I want a 7-axis humanoid robot arm.

Hell, I'm struggling to work out what to do with my six-axis humanoid robot arm.

Hello, Watson Business Analytics.

How nice to see you again.

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Mon 01-Feb-16 08:40:19

I have shown literally no interest, ever, in any form, via Google searches, website visits, or emails, in Death Records.

What is this, the new hot thing in the charts?

Seriously. Your advertising company is off the wall.

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Mon 01-Feb-16 08:47:07

Oh look. No longer do I have to worry about my ballscrews.

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Mon 01-Feb-16 08:48:29

Okay, own up. Which death-obsessed webmaster for an industrial parts-buyer has borrowed my phone?

All of those ads are AdChoices ads - so what have you been searching?!?! You can tell the AdChoices ads because they have a small, blue, triangular arrow in the top right hand corner.

MN hosts a couple of AdChoices spaces (which is an income stream for them) but the ads that appear on the AdChoices spaces are generally to do with your own internet searches - or threads you've read on here.

If you don't like the AdChoices ads that you see, then let MNHQ know and they can block them.

TheGreatSnafu Mon 01-Feb-16 16:22:48

Based on your ads your life is far more interesting than mine.

I get the death records ad too but I have recently searched death records so it seemed reasonable.

But I also get "Transform Your Body!!! for £3 a Month!!"

Which is rather insulting. (and impossible)

FruStefanOla Mon 01-Feb-16 16:27:15

DP and I are temporarily sharing a laptop at the moment - all the ads I'm seeing are bloody cars!!!!

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Tue 02-Feb-16 08:10:15

I know it's adchoices, but I swear I don't get these ads on other sites, and I swear I have no interest in a 7-axis humanoid robot arm and have been served these ads for months.

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Tue 02-Feb-16 08:12:53

Fru, I swear I do know adchoices works on your browsing history (the expensive shoe ads I got for weeks after looking at Manolos once - once!) but only on MN do they try to sell me industrial fabrication equipment.

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Tue 02-Feb-16 08:17:46

I just generally swear.

Sadik Tue 02-Feb-16 08:24:31

I have no idea (Adblock!), but now I'm sorely tempted to look on ebay for a 7-axis humanoid robot arm, I feel it's what my life is missing grin

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Tue 02-Feb-16 08:28:08

Maybe it's because I browse mostly on the laptop with adblock, but MN on my phone.

BeccaMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 02-Feb-16 12:07:14

Okay, own up. Which death-obsessed webmaster for an industrial parts-buyer has borrowed my phone?

What have you been up to All? grin

BeccaMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 02-Feb-16 12:08:47

Any ideas anyone? What can someone do with a robot arm, business analytics, death records and ballscrews?

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Tue 02-Feb-16 12:41:18

Well I don't know what YOU would do, but I'm planning on building an awesome Bond-villain's lair.

TooMuchOfEverything Tue 02-Feb-16 12:48:14

Think back 5-10 years... Have you bought meccano/Lego/a marble run for a small child - by now they should surely be making robot arm stuff?

TheGreatSnafu Tue 02-Feb-16 14:25:38

With those items, if one were McGyver, one could pursue world domination.

TiggyD Tue 02-Feb-16 19:40:47

Maybe you were looking for 6-axis humanoid robot arms and adchoices thought you might want to push the boat out a bit?

AllYouDoToMeIsTalkTalk Tue 02-Feb-16 19:49:43

Ah, that'll be it. My old six-axis humanoid robot arm is getting a bit tired.

I've been thinking about this.

Robot arm - Evil villains trying to take over the world would like robot arms. Those and eye patches.

Business Analytics - Useful to run large organisation, possibly an evil empire.

Death Records - A list of dead voters to possibly rig an election.

Ball screws - I assume is some form of torture device for men.

To put it another way, I am very very worried about the OP.
