Just wondering the deletion policy on this. If there is a thread is about another thread but is lighthearted in approach is it allowed to stand? Or indeed a thread 'inspired' by another thread is that allowed to stand more so than a thread which is critical of another thread?

Here's the policy as last described: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2223462-Can-we-have-a-ruling-on-TAATs-please

They said there's a difference between starting a thread that's tangentially related/inspired by another thread. And one which just seems to try to rehash something that's running (perhaps with futile aim of getting a different set of replies).

Hi InTheBox - scaevola is absolutely right. We will delete threads that attempt to rehash an argument on another thread (one that's running, or one that's been zapped) or threads which discuss why a previous thread which was removed (as this tends to cause the same problems as the thread itself).

The "lighthearted" thread about another thread would depend on context really, as with all TAATs.

Did that make sense? Blush

Thanks Becca, it makes complete sense. It was just more out of curiosity than anything. I'm not the thread police Wink
