Am I the only one getting this weird code instead of punctuation in subject headings?!

Depending on your device, emojis can do that.

It's bad enough in the body of a post, where at least you stand a chance of knowing what it is by context.

Utterly incomprehensible in titles.

I didn't think you could put certain punctuations in headings?

Hi MackerelOfFact,

Hmm. What were you trying to post when those symbols appeared?

If you can let us know that, plus which device you're using, which version of the site, etc., we'll flag this to our Tech team.

There have been some strange goings on on the site today, though!

Bizarrely, I think my actual heading was ';<&;gt;&qt;' (so symbols, intentionally, but it still added/changed the symbols).

Apologies if I have opened up some kind of coding wormhole.

I'm on a PC using Internet Explorer, so a pretty vanilla combo.

I think " causes a problem. Or possibly '

It's not emoji.

I see this too when anybody uses quotation marks in their thread title. Once you open the thread it appears how it should.
